Position: Operations/Project Managers
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
Location: UK or Ireland working remotely
About XOCEAN
XOCEAN is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently, instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV).
Overview
Responsible for the successful global execution of assigned projects.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with internal and external project stakeholders on all aspects of project planning and execution.
- Developing project plans and budgets.
- Resource planning.
- Overseeing the daily activities of the project.
- Maintaining project records and paperwork.
- Sourcing external contractors as required by the project.
- Ensuring adherence to XOCEAN’s health and safety standards.
- Project Logistics and Coordination.
- Overseeing the daily activities of Project Engineers (inc mentoring, training and development)
- Meeting project budgets, assessing the financial and operational risks for potential projects and providing feedback to the sales team / risk escalation to Senior Operations Manager.
- Providing daily operational updates to Senior Operations Manager and Management Team.
- Reporting on project performance against both financial and non-financial project objectives.
- Project Cost Management.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Managing relationships with key vendors.
Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience
The successful candidate will have a proven record of managing projects with strong client relationship and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
- Minimum 5 years in a Project Management or Operations Management position.
- Translates development goals into actionable plans. Makes timely, confident decisions.
- Results orientated, proactive and reactive.
- Enthusiastic, positive, and proactive nature with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentational, problem solving and team working skills.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working within the Marine sector, particularly within marine survey.
- Renewables or Oil & Gas sector experience.
- Additional project management qualifications (eg Prince 2, PMP, CMI).
