Position: Operational Planner
Qualification: 3rd level qualification in Engineering, or other relevant discipline
Location: M1 Corridor, Greenore, Co. Louth
About XOCEAN
XOCEAN is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently, instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV).
Overview
Responsible for the coordination of maintenance and project allocation of our fleet of USVs.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Coordination of the maintenance and project execution requirements of our fleet of USVs. This includes:
‒ Determining human resources, equipment,
facilities, and materials needed to complete
USV maintenance on time, on budget and to a
very high-quality standard.
‒ Allocating work to the appropriate
budget/cost centre.
‒ Managing stock levels of parts and
consumables.
‒ Monitoring performance to ensure works will
finish on time and within budget.
‒ Identifying potential risk areas and planning
contingencies.
‒ Identifying impacts of delays.
‒ Liaising with operations and engineering to
discuss the progress of the project and address
any issues that arise.
- Responsible for coordinating the allocation of USV’s to projects taking into account USV capability, logistics, servicing requirements. Prepare options for the Senior Management Team on USV allocation.
- Produce clear deliverables and KPIs to communicate USV status widely across the XOCEAN business.
Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience
- 3rd level qualification in Engineering, or other relevant discipline
- 10 years’ experience as a planner in a high technology environment
- Strong ability to understand multiple constraints including commercial, technical and logistics.
- Very strong organisational and problem-solving skills, clear logical thinker.
- Very strong budget management and financial reporting experience.
- Engineering background with good understanding of complex technical systems.
- Excellent communicator capable of sharing complex scenarios within a wide team.
Desirable Experience
- ERP systems skills (NetSuite preferred)
