Whatever your role, it's likely no two days will be the same. The very nature of what we do means new challenges, new tasks and new projects are always on the horizon. As we innovate in a changing industry, we need people who get the job done and then help us do it better. Our best people do that every day.

You'll join a company proud to be renowned for best practice in our industry. As Australia's Port of the Year 2017, we continue to invest in innovation and growth to move PBPL and the maritime industry forward. Our continued success depends on the diverse skills, experiences and perspectives of our people. Join us and help us build a bright future for PBPL, for Queensland and for you.

We have achieved so much in our history, and have transitioned from a government-owned corporation to a private entity. We're proud of who we are and how we work but like every organisation, there's plenty still to do. As we strive for continuous improvement and innovation, we want people who have the drive to challenge and enhance our approach. But you also need staying power and the readiness to operate positively in a diverse organisation whose people and processes are always evolving.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Hydrographic Surveyor to join our survey team. As a Surveyor you will be responsible for contributing to the safe navigation of all the commercial vessels that transit the 110kms of bay channels and river reaches and the 31 tidal berths in and out of the Port.

Duties include the installation, calibration and maintenance of all hydrographic and metocean systems and software aboard the Port's dedicated survey vessels, in addition to providing technical support to the Port's dredging fleet and support craft vessels as required.

The team is also actively involved in supporting external clients, on a range of challenging projects, mainly along the Queensland coast, utilising exciting and innovative technology.

This role is based at the Port of Brisbane, Queensland where you will travel home after each working day. From time to time you may be required to be away for short periods, as an individual or as part of a team, dependant on the location and scope of the project.
