The International Federation of Hydrographic Societies publishes both The Hydrographic Journal and a series of Special Publications.

The Hydrographic Journal
The Hydrographic Journal is an established and highly regarded refereed journal of record and comment. It comprises authoritative techincal papers and articles by acknowledged experts on all aspects of hydrography and related sciences. The biannual Journal is published in English.
Approximately 2000 copies of each edition of the Journal are printed and ditributed in approximately 70 countries, although the actual readership greatly exceeds the circulation figure via corporate, governmental, academic and library subscriptions.
Individual readership comprises senior representatives of national survey organisations and contract companies; port authorities; government, military and public service authorities; hydrocarbon exploration and production companies; research and educational institutions; professional bodies and societies; engineering concerns, post and telecommunications organisations; acoustic and electromagnetic instrumentation manufacturers and users; oceanographic and land survey instrument manufacturers and users; dredging and salvage contractors, and surveyors in all fields of private and public practice.
Subscription to the Journal
The Hydrographic Journal is available by subscription only either via a member society* or to non-members at an annual rate of £65 (GBP) including postage and packing. The subscription year starts in January. Each issue is despatched by deferred airmail outside the UK. Copies of individual editions of the Journal may be purchased at £30 (GBP) per copy.
*Please check with your chosen member society to establish whether they offer subscription to The Hydrographic Journal
Back Issues
Purchases of back issues (where available) are charged on a sliding scale of £10-30 (GBP) according to year of publication. Where complete editions of a publication are still available, the whole issue must be purchased. Where the publication is out of print, single photocopies of an article are available at a nominal charge.

Special Publications
IFHS's Special Publications series consists of a range of technical publications on all aspects of hydrographic surveying and associated disciplines. Some of the Special Publications (SP) are purpose-written or collections of papers addressing single topics, whilst others are the Proceedings of the Federation's previous seminars and Hydro Conferences.
